When it comes to hair Loss in men, while the problem can be distressing and embarrassing, it is not always surprising. In women however, tends to balk the norm of what we expect. Because of this, the problem in women can be even more upsetting, especially when you consider how closely a woman ties her looks and style to her full head of hair.

The causes of female hair Loss can be as simple as the hormonal imbalance that is often seen as the cause of male hair Loss. It can also be a complex issue in females, and can include hormonal imbalances as well as underlying illnesses. This is why it is so important for a woman with thinning hair to get into her doctor as soon as possible so that she can get a diagnosis that will explain her condition.

There are many causes of hair Loss including hereditary, medications and an underlying medical condition. Many times this is temporary and it will grow back. Some conditions, such as Androgenetic alopecia, which is hereditary, affects men more than women, although women also suffer from this due to its hereditary nature. Some researchers believe people are targeted by nature to suffer Androgenetic alopecia and a trigger event begins the process. It is possible for the hair to fall out and then grow back, several times.

Hair loss in women is usually linked to hormone imbalances which occur when testosterone in the body is converted into another hormone called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. The effects of this hormonal imbalance can shrink hair follicles and cause hair to fall out. Another reason for this condition in Women are medical conditions. Conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome and autoimmune disorders such as lupus or multiple sclerosis.

There are some conditions that can attribute to losing hair in both men and women such as diabetes, lupus and thyroid problems as well as poor nutrition. Lack of iron, protein and fad and rapid diets can also affect your nutrition, sparking hair loss in many people. A recent high fever may attribute to losing hair as will a severe flu or surgery. Some medications can put your re-growth on hold while shedding still occurs. Over time, the balance will return and your hair will grow back.

Certain drugs used to treat common ailments are also known to lose hair. Drugs for gout, arthritis and high blood pressure may have the unappreciated side effect of causing hair loss and some women will lose hair while taking birth control pills. Undergoing chemotherapy will usually cause hair loss, but once treatment ends and the chemicals work out of the body, the hair typically grows back.

The good news is that there are treatments available, and some have proven effective for many people in stopping the process of hair loss. In some cases, hair has even grown back for certain patients that use these treatments.

What causes hair loss in women and how can it be controlled?I've heard some hair loss in women can be expected with age but are there any natural nutrients that can be used to help or aid in controlling the problem? Its kinda sad to see ones tresses go down the drain after shampooing.

i think wrong shampoo / stress / what u eat had something to do with your losing hair.References :

Biotin lots of biotin(found in the vitamin section). You'll notice results within 1 month even. Take it faithfully though. My hair is starting to fill in again. Try pre natal vitamins too. Stay away from the cheap shampoos that lather a lot, they will strip and weaken your hair.

Biotin is famous for making hair stronger again. It really will help you. Be patient and you will see.References :

I' ve heard that one of the reasons that causes hair loss is stress and some of the shampoos and hairgels and stuff. If you don't get the proper vitamins and nutrition, your hair may be the first thing to show it to the world. Hair is ultra-sensitive to good nutrition and vitamins, and there are actually several vitamins that can specifically can help your hair grow and look healthyReferences :

It could be stess, diet. Excersise is good for relieving stress. Relaxation tapes. Check your diet, be sure your eating the right kinds of food. There is a natural supplement you can buy at Wal-mart. I forget what it is called but I believe it is clearly stated for hair. I heard if you eat jello it will help the growth of finger nails and hair.

Check your head for bald spots. If you have round bald patches then you may have what is called alpesia. Go to your doctor they will give you a cream or shots in the scalp. (steroids) It is to stimulate hair growth. The cream didn't work for me but the shots did.

I have noticed that when I don't eat right and I get stressed out I lose my hair. (extremely stressed out, not the normal every day stress.) (I get bald spots) My hair has always grown back. The first time I had the shots. The last two times I changed my eating habbits and tried relaxing a bit more.

Like you said some hair loss is normal but not clumps of hair.

    Good luck to youReferences :

the above answers are good. need to check for hormonal causes also, like hypothyroidism, but the main culprit is heredity. the clue for heredity is 'male pattern baldness' and runs in your family's females; it is treated with rogaine. stress, postpartum status, and low thyroid can do it. there are other hormone problems that can do it too. if it doesn't run in your family i would get checked by a doctor.

shampoo/conditioner and hard water can do it to some people as dying hair and other treatments.References :

While some hair fall daily is natural, stress, hairstyle products and lack of nutrition can cause excessive hair fall as listed at http://tinyurl.com/kshvn . By changing your lifestyle and using herbal remedies, you can reduce hair loss. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/py7z4 .References :
